Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 29, 2026
Squat Lock ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.
1. Information We Collect
Squat Lock is designed with privacy in mind. We collect and process the following data, all of which stays on your device unless otherwise noted:
- Motion & Accelerometer Data: Used in real-time to detect squat movements. This data is processed on-device and is never transmitted to any server.
- Screen Time & App Selection: We use Apple's FamilyControls and Screen Time APIs to manage app restrictions. The specific apps you choose to lock are handled by the operating system and are not accessible to us.
- Health Data: With your permission, we read your weight from Apple Health and write workout data (squats completed, calories burned). This data is stored in Apple Health on your device.
- User Preferences: Your settings (name, squat count, unlock duration, etc.) are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults and App Groups.
- Workout History: Records of your squat sessions are stored locally on your device.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal identification information beyond what you voluntarily enter (e.g., your first name for greetings).
- We do not track your location.
- We do not collect or store any data on external servers.
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
Squat Lock uses the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat: Used to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect anonymized purchase and subscription data as described in their privacy policy.
- Apple Services: The app integrates with Apple's Screen Time, FamilyControls, HealthKit, and notification frameworks. These are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Storage & Security
All user data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers or databases that store your personal information. Your data is protected by iOS's built-in security measures, including device encryption and app sandboxing.
5. Children's Privacy
Squat Lock is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to address the situation.
6. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your information. You can:
- Delete all app data by uninstalling Squat Lock.
- Revoke Health data access in Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.
- Revoke Screen Time permissions in Settings > Screen Time.
